Giaudrone was named a Washington State School on the Rise by the Association of Washington School Leaders (AWSL) and the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP). The School on the Rise award recognizes schools with established systems where students and adults collaborate to lead school culture together, showcasing tangible examples of co-design, collaboration, and joint leadership. 

Two former students, Anabelle Stevens and Rhiannon Meyer, nominated Giaudrone for this award.  In her nomination submission, Anabelle wrote that Giaudrone's "leadership team is always brainstorming ideas on how to make our school community safer and more fun for everyone there" and Rhiannon wrote that she appreciates how "students and teachers often collaborate and share ideas about how things can be improved at Giaudrone." 

Stephanie Sheppard, the leadership teacher at Giaudrone, says that building a positive culture at school has been a focus for the ASB and leadership class and that they've been working really hard to make school a place that students want to be.
